Join us as we host Dr. Autumn Womack as part of our 42 Books / 42 Years celebration with her talk, “‘The End of Something, and the Beginning’: Fragments, Failure, and the Ethics of Reading the Black Literary Archive”, Thursday, October 30 at 4:30 p.m. in the Bridgwaters Lounge at the Neal-Marshall Black Cultural Center.
HBW's programmatic and archival practices aim to generate new knowledge meaningful for understanding and affirming Black culture and life. To celebrate our 40th anniversary and move to Indiana University, we present the 42 Books / 42 Years exhibit.
Founded in 1983 at the University of Mississippi by Maryemma Graham, the History of Black Writing (HBW) has strived for over 40 years to recover, preserve, and provide educational programming centered on Black literary works.
